Man Allegedly Stab Cultist To Death, As Police Declare Suspect Wanted

A man in Benin City identified as Sunny Osondu Akas is reportedly on the run after stabbing a yet to be identified Eiye confraternity cultist to death.
Confirmed reports revealed that the incident happened on January 30th, 2013 during a football match between two teams on a playing ground belonging to a primary school near I.C.E. Road in Benin City.
It was gathered that the rivalry between Eiye confraternity and members of Neo Black Movement (Black Axe) resumed shortly on the football playing ground when members of Black-Axe disrupted the football match and attacked members of Eiye confraternity on the playing ground with dangerous weapons as bloody fight suddenly broke out between them over unresolved issues.
Our REPORTER gathered that the boys in the course of the fight reached out for their hidden dangerous weapons ranging from knife, machete, cut-to-size gun and battleaxe by using them to inflict injuries.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said Sunny Osondu Akas, who was not a cultist but a friend to an Eiye cultist plunged a knife belonging to a Black-axe cultist into the stomach of the cultists who wanted to stab him.
According to the source, the victim of the knife attack slumped and bleed to death while his attacker, Sunny Osondu Akas fled using one of the exit route in the school playing ground.
It was further confirmed that the suspect who was married with a baby did not return home as police officers raided his apartment and arrested his wife, Glory Akas who was detained for over week.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that angry persons suspected to be relatives of the deceased cultist had gone to burn down the house of the father of the Sunny Osondu Akas at night leading to the death of the old man.
A statement made by the police stated that, a suspect identified as Sunny Osondu Akas who was involved in a fight along with other boys at a primary school near I.C.E road during a football match had gone into hiding after stabbing to death one of the boys on January 30, 2013.
It further stated while investigation was ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, his wife Glory Akas who had been arrested but later released weeks later after helping the officers of the police in tracking him down by taking them to Orlu in Imo state, the hometown of the suspect but to no avail.
The police therefore said it would leave nothing to chance in ensuring that the prime suspect in the case, Sunny Osondu Akas was arrested and brought to justice adding that a handsome reward awaits anyone with useful information that could lead to his arrest.
