Police Renew Investigations Into Killing Of Man, Wife In Benin, Declare Contractor Wanted

The authorities of the Nigerian Police, Edo State Command, have renewed investigations into the gruesome murder of Mr. Osagie Imade and wife, Mrs. Itohan Imade by an unknown gunmen suspected to have been influenced by one  Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro, Chief Executive Officer of Igho K. Painting and Decoration Services, a contracting firm to the deceased’s family.

The police due to temporary reports of the gruesome murder, have declared that the contractor, Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro as a suspect and thereby declared him wanted over his alleged complicity in the killing of the husband and wife as well as robbery which culminated in carting away of valuable properties including cash worth millions of naira and two cars from the said house l.

Speaking with Journalists, a family source, who also live in the neighborhood, but refused to disclose her name said that it was shocking to see the lifeless bodies of the deceased couple, on the 12th of October, 2022, saying they heard the wife shouted for help before she was also strangulated to death by the assailants after they had killed her husband.

Recalled that Mr. Osagie Imade had before now, always give contract to Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro and their relationship has spanned over years without any blemish  and that he (Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro) called the deceased on phone fateful day.

The source added that no sooner they interacted than the deceased couple were abruptly killed, a situation which suspected the contractor to probably be responsible as the assailants asked Osagie Imade to bring all the gold jewelries belonging to him and his wife and also demanded for huge sum of money or else it will mark the end of their lives but before the said Mr Osagie Imade could realise what was going on, he was already hacked to death.

The source maintained that his wife, Mrs Itohan Imade who noticed strange noise was coming to the scene to know what was also going on, before you know it the assailants have also killed her, a development which gave the criminals to ransacked all the entire house and forcefully robbed the deceased family their belongings including two cars which they took away.

The source pointed out that police were informed and swung into action by launching preliminary investigation to unravel the circumstances and invited Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro whose identities of his business name were in the house of the deceased at Jemila area of Benin where the incident happened being his contractor with outstanding relationship but gripped with the fear of being persecuted unjustly, he escaped.

The source said that the escape of Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro never gone down well as they publicly declared him wanted and asked the members of the public to keep vigil to enable him, Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro be arrested and charged to the Criminal Court to face prosecution since he was said to be allegedly involved in the robbery which led to the killing of Osagie Imade and his wife, Mrs. Itohan Imade.

In the same vein, the mother of Kelly Ighodaro Omokaro was reportedly killed in a reprisal attack when the family of Osagie Imade invaded and attacked their residence in his search to kill since he was the contractor, saying the police as at press time had promised to bring justice to the deceased families.
