The ward chairmen who took turns to give account of how prepared they are, spoke their minds at the meeting held at the instance of the Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) in his Benin City resident.

They said they have no fear noting that they are sure of their victory at the poll.

Speaking, the Oredo Ward Chairman, Mr. Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe said they have done their campaign and that all the councilors have gone round the 12 wards and have also embarked on house-house campaign with the view of canvassing votes for the chairmanship candidate of the party.

Earlier, The Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd), said the meeting is so important because the party cannot be taken by surprised as they have to be well prepared for the election.

According to Airhiavbere, “We must be ready for that election and that is why I called for this leaders meeting. Let us prepared for the action of the next few days.

“Let us not say we want to go to court. If they said election is tomorrow, we should be prepared for it. We are very much ready.

“It is not time to blame anybody and that is why we are here to make sure we get it right. To make sure we above all, we claim victory in all positions councilors and chairmanship positions in Edo South.”

The NDDC Executive Director, Finance and Administration also refuted the claim that the party and the NDDC have set aside N150 million to buy votes on the September 2 Local Government Council Election.

“What evidence do they have? There is nothing like that. They are already fidgeting that APC has come to take charge in Edo State.

“I think they are already getting the feelers. It has nothing to do with the NDDC. All that they are seeing is that, there seems to be an under ground movement to make sure that the Saturday victory is of the APC and that is where we are and we are not going to change.

“There will be more rumours and we are ready to debunk them,” he said.
