APC Leaders In South-South Nigeria Gives Warm Welcome To Dr. Alile, New National Woman Leader

The new National Woman Leader of the All progressives Congress (APC), Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Idele Alile has been given a warm welcome by leaders of the party in Edo State and South-South Nigeria in Benin City, Edo State capital.
The flight conveying Dr. Mary Alile touched the ground at the Benin Airport few minutes after 8.00am on today Thursday 31st August, 2023 and she was greeted with a load warm welcome by party members.
The reception which could best be described as the gathering of eagles belted at the state APC secretariat where she met with the state party executive and party faithful.
Congratulating Dr. Mary Alile on her new appointment, the State Chairman of APC, Col. David Imuse (Rtd) said Edo State is very lucky to produce the national woman leader of the largest party in African.
Former Edo state Deputy Governor Mr. Pius Odubu and other party Chieftains extolled the sterling qualities of Dr. Mary Alile whom je said is a dignified woman who has consistently displayed the exceptional character of mother hood through her philanthropic disposition.
The ceremony later shifted to the reception ground at Elora Royal Hall and Suites on Sapele Road, Benin City where human traffic was conspicuously displayed in Honour of the new National Woman Leader of the party.
The highly elated National APC Woman Leader while addressing party leaders and supporters assured of an inclusive administration.
According to her, considering the role women play in mobilization during elections, she would prevail on President Bola Tinubu to increase the number of women in his cabinet more than 35 percent.
Besides, she said she would consult widely among party leaders and members to ensure less rancour and continuously dialogue to resolve conflict.
She stated these in Benin City at a reception organized for her by the state leadership of the party where she also said that contrary to claims in some quarters, she is not new in the party and that she has been very active culminating in her selection as delegate to the presidential primary election that produced Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the party.
Dr. Alile commended the national leadership of the party, the president, the leader of the party in the state, Senator Adams Oshiomhole and other leaders in the state to her ward and woman leader for the opportunity given her to serve which she said came as a surprise to her.
According to her, “I am aware that the mother of the nation, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu is seriously working to advance the cause of women in this dispensation. As the National Women Leader, I intend to work collaboratively with the First Lady to promote the interest of Nigerian women.
“I intend on behalf of the women to engage the party, pursuant to increasing access to rewards for women at all levels from the ward to the national level.
“Meanwhile, I like to appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu for his recognition of women and his penchant for increasing the number of women participating in his government. Nevertheless, I want to beg him to, in the end, see that the number of women in his government is more than thirty-five percent.”
