Effects to piloting the affairs of Etsako Central Local Government Council towards the betterment of the people, and subsequent inauguration of the legislative arm of the Council by the newly elected chairman, Hon. Solomon Obomighie, member representing Ward 9 of the LG council, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed has been elected as the House Leader.

Also, the member representing Ward 6 of the LGA Council, Hon. Yusuf Bawa was elected as the Deputy House Leader.

Other principal officers are Hon. Osumah Oshiobughie Benjamin of Ward 2 as Majority Leader; Hon. Ikhane A. Friday from Ward 4 as Deputy Majority Leader; Hon. Oshiotse Paul from Ward 3 was elected as Chief Whip and Hon. Ojadi Sylvester Ojadi from Ward 10 as Deputy Chief Whip.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected House Leader, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Cephas thanked Almighty God for the gift of life and opportunity to serve, the party leaders and the executive chairman of the council, Hon. Solomon Obomighie and especially the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for the privilege to hold the office in the party’s platform.

Hon. Yakubu also congratulated other honourable members for their well-deserved victory at the polls.

According to him, “I want to assure you that I will not betray the confidence reposed in me but I will want to solicit your maximum cooperation to enable us move the council to a greater heights as a house divided among itself cannot stand.”

The House Leader however solicited for the support of all in the legislative arm of the council to enable them delivered the dividend of democracy to the people at the grassroots.

In a similar vein, the Executive Chairman of Etsako Central local government, Hon. Solomon Obomighie has appointed and subsequent sworn-in Hon. John Oghiadomhe as the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).

Performing the swearing-in ceremony, the chairman called for total support and cooperation to enable them to change the narratives and move the council forward by providing the basic needs of the people.

He said as a seasoned administrator who have worked and retired as a council staff, his appointment would not be a misplaced one but rather a blessing not only to him as chairman but the entire local government administration.

Responding, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. John Oghiadomhe thanked the executive chairman and the leaders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) for finding him worthy to be appointed as Secretary to the council.

He however pledged and assured the chairman of his loyalty, commitment, dedication, support and cooperation to ensure that they both achieve the much desired goals to the people.
