Edo Dep. Governor Draws Battle Line With Edo Journalists

By Simeon OSAJIE
Amidst the crisis rocking Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip shaibu and his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the deputy governor has drawn a battle line with Journalists in the state.
His Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiana yesterday sent Journalists who had come to cover an event in the deputy governor’s private residence, citing a directive from his principal.
Journalists were at the residence to, among others cover a ceremony involving some catholic faithful and the the deputy governor in the ongoing crisis between him and the governor.
According to Musa, “If my boss comes to see you journalists here, he will be angry with me. If you are not called, please leave, I didn’t call you.”
However, efforts by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the deputy governor, Hon. Kingsley Ehigiamusoe to intervene on the matter did not yield the desired result.
Attempts by a former secretary of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Titus Akhigbe to admonish Musa Ebomhiana on the way he talked to the journalists was deafened by the murmurings of the retreating journalists.
