Okiye Felicitates With Muslims On Eid-El-Maulud

As Muslims mark the Eid-El-Maulud celebration, a former speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and frontline Edo 2024 Governorship Aspirant, Rt. Hon. Francis Abumere Okiye has urged them to reflect on and emulate the good nature, show love, and imbibe teachings of tolerance of Prophet Mohammed.
In the statement signed by Hon. Okiye and made available to newsmen, said the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed is a time for Muslim faithful to rededicate themselves to the teachings of the prophet not just as a matter of religious obligation but also a recipe for peaceful coexistence in society.
Okiye urged Muslims to pray for the peace and progress of the State and the country, adding that the need for prayers is pertinent to set Edo State in particular and Nigeria at large on the right path.
According to Okiye, “I celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Edo State on this day set aside to mark the celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
“The occasion should remind us all of the qualities of the Prophet, which we should emulate in advancing love, peace and progress of the state.”
The former EDHA Speaker urged Muslims to continue to shun acts and behaviours that may destabilize the unity and progress in society, just as the Prophet Mohammed would, urging them to be good neighbours and desirable ambassadors of change.
