Former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and a frontline Edo 2024 Governorship Aspirant, Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye has appreciated God Almighty for successfully pull to end his tenure in the Edo State House of Assembly having served his constituency for three terms.

Okiye stated this during his thanksgiving to God Almighty at Christ Chosen Church of God International, Airport Road branch, Benin City.

Accompanied by family members, friends and well-wishers to appreciate God for His protection and guidance through the thick and thin in the State House of Assembly, Okiye noted that having given the opportunity to break the gist and record of three terms as honourable members in the history of Esan North-East local government area, its calls for celebration and special thanks to Almighty God.

According to Okiye, “I’m more overwhelmed by joy because of the very fact that my spiritual leader know the depth of the issue that took me in and brought me out safely. He has never given me the opportunities to start giving case by case analysis. Therefore l believe God is firmly in control.

“I want to come out just few doubt that instituted my nomination, my election and my election to be speaker by the honourable members binding all the circumstances l went through as a speaker; binding all the forces that stood against me, even the House, the government at a time, but we became victorious, even the blind, the presidency follows that the government was able to be established.”

Okiye noted: “When the children of God were praying and celebrating, devils were also find in their midst and we were not surprise of any form of attack, but what we are celebrating today, in the faces of all of that, l came out stronger and healthier.

“I feel very fulfilled when the Apostle said just be calm, God is not done with you, I took that very seriously, l could have started all form of challenges because the devil didn’t stop at my removal, but God gave me the grace to stay on and on.

“I said to myself this time around, l want to be disengage honourable, I have being experiencing so many oppression and God gave me the grace to stay off all manner of controversies.

“Today it is on record that l was a former Speaker and there is nothing anybody can do about it. I stay my third tenure that never happen in the history of Esan North-East, l broke the gist and the record and it is on record.

“I went in, l saw it all and l conquered. I am happy that today l am feeling fulfill that all that l felt God wanted me to go there and exhibit, l did without any who was offended. I am out, strong and healthy to do more work in the house of God.

“To all of you for either means that in the past of my going in, in the past of my conquering and part of the success story, let me assure you, blessings will never elude you.

“For those that played a role during the challenges, l have forgiven all, because there is a lot ahead of me, God has be so merciful, l have never be a perfect child but l brought knowledge to the house of Okiye today and l am proud to say that.”

In conclusion, Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye added, “I came out clean. Any nock on my door, l will say who are you. I have no fear in my mind; I went there and l represented the house of God.”

Earlier in his message, the Spiritual Leader of Christ Chosen Church God International, Senior Apostle David Unuefe-Ikhuiwu said Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye have every reason to appreciate God for given him victory through his period in the State House of Assembly.

While admonishing the congregation to always thank God for what He has done in their lives, Senior Apostle Unuefe noted that one’s good turn deserves another, because Okiye knew what he went through, we all knew what he went through, so we all have every reason to join him to appreciate God for the good things He has done for him and his family.

In an interview with journalists, the representative of Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu who was also a colleague of Hon. Okiye at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Kingsley Ehigiamusoe said, “Today’s event is significant because Rt. Hon. Okiiye is thanking God for what He has being doing for him and his family and for taking him to the Edo State House of Assembly and bringing him out in peace and in good health.

On his part, the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku said, “Okiye is my very good friend, not only a friend, we have worked together in the Fourth Assembly from 2007 to 2011. It is very good to always thank God in any situation you find yourself.

“I am happy for him and give thanks to God for protecting him all through in the House of Assembly. God who gave him the mandate will also lift him up. Okiye is a good man and a dependable colleague. He is still a very young man and God will see him through.”
