Okiye Salutes Edo Teachers On World Teachers’ Day

…urges Edo teachers to remain committed to their responsibilities, for without teachers’ efforts society will not flourish.

As Edo State people and Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate the 2023 World Teachers’ Day, a frontline Edo 2024 Gubernatorial Aspirant and former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye reflect on the significant role teachers’ play in the development of any society.
In a press statement which emanated from the Campaign Council Office of Rt. Hon. Francis Okiye For Governor 2024, signed by the governorship aspirant noted that Edo State teachers’ labour of love, their steadfastness and determination in ensuring that our children become exceptional adult, successful in career and life cannot be overemphasized.
According to Okiye, “Teachers producing global citizens, so they are global teachers, who need to situate their advances on a global level. The World Teacher’s Day offers our government and citizens the opportunity to rethink national issues facing teachers from an international perspective and benchmark the progress made by national teachers in global context.

“Our government should always evaluate the contributions of teachers to the educational development of our state, and provide solutions to extant challenges.”
Going further, Rt. Hon. Okiye noted: “Without teachers, this world would be quite a gloomy place to live. If parents give us life, teachers teach us how to harness the life to the fullest. Teachers are the pinnacle of knowledge and diligence.
“Dear teacher, you have been a great mentor. An understanding and patient teacher like you is the biggest blessing for any student. We will always be thankful to you till the last breath.
“We are aware that there is more to be done and my government comes 2024 by the grace of God Almighty will be totally committed to this cause, so that your reward as teachers’ begins here on earth and the teaching profession can take its pride in place.
“Once again, l urge you all to take pride in your profession, remain committed to your responsibilities and to always put in your best at all times, for without you and your efforts society will not flourish.
“Happy World Teachers’ Day to all our remarkable teachers!”
