Edo UTQEN Gets New Exco, As Nat’l President Urges Members To Embrace Peace, Progress

National President and the Inspector General of Mines and Quarry, Comrade Aliyu Adewale Mayungbe has advised its members in Edo State to always embrace peace and progress of the Union and bring their complaints to the Union any time they have dispute, stressed that the National Administrative Council of the Union is charged with the responsibility to look into any matters and resolved it amicably.
Comrade Adewale who gave the advice during the inauguration of the newly elected State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Union in Benin City, the State capital, said they have been informed by members of the Union about the challenges faced by UTQEN in Edo state.

“Until the determination and pronouncement from the right court of law, the Union have the legitimate right to unionized tippers, trucks and employers in the industry.
“Today, Edo State Council of the Union has also witness her second formal inauguration, and this is a remarkable event to the people of Edo State, and l presumed will bring government closer to the people working within quarry/mine industry in the state,” he said.
In his goodwill message, the Controller of Labour, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment Edo State, Mrs. Olugbami Olutoyin, represented by Eghieye Augustine, Senior Labour Inspector Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Edo State said every organization’s vision and mission rest on the capacity of the executive in driving the common details to achieving goals.
“I want to say that there are no purposes without challenges, and such challenges are to be absorbed and faced with positive mindsets to ensure breaking the odds and attaining successes.
“| am convinced to state here that this has been the driving force of the outgoing executive, which has brought in the unions present level of achievements.”

He noted: “Today you are electing a new State Executive Committee of the Union, and | encourage all the delegates to conduct themselves in mature manners, following the guidelines of the electoral body; embrace collective interest for the growth of the union.
“The electoral body must demonstrate neutrality by allowing a level playing ground for all contestants, so that the choice of the people emerges. We at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment are always there to give you the necessary supports.
“As you may request from us from time to time especially on labour and industrial reations matters, | would like to thank you for the invitation, and wish you a fruitful election and inauguration.”
Responding on behalf of the executive, the newly elected Edo State Chairman of UTQEN, Comrade Gabriel Osaigbovo said their new office is not for show but to lift the Union into a greater heights.
He appealed to members who might have been offended during their election to please forgive them that election has come and gone.
The newly elected executive members of the Edo State Council of UTQEN include Comrade Gabriel Osaigbovo – Chairman, Comrade Wilson Ogbachi – Deputy Chairman, Comrade Michael Eghaghe – Vice Chairman 1, Comrade Innocent Ifebho – Vice Chairman 2, Comrade Abu Dauda – Vice Chairman 3,
Comrade Osagie Ikhu-Omoregbe – Asst. Secretary and Comrade Jeffrey Nosa Ataga – Treasurer.
Others are Comrade Odion Mustapha – Financial Secretary, Comrade Isaiah Efosa Ewere- Org. Secretary, Comrade Wilson Alekhue – PRO, Comrade Charles Ogbebo – Auditor, Comrade Godday Ifeanyi Anim – Chief Whip, Comrade Beatrice Ugege – Woman Leader, Comrade Osakpamwan Iro, Comrade Monday Eitokpemholen and Comrade Sunday Ataga Trustees respectively.
