JCI TOYP 2024 Voting Commences June 1st

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has announced the commencement of the voting process for the highly anticipated Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Awards 2024. This follows the successful nomination phase, which saw over 1,354 entries from across the country.
The 2024 National Chairman, TOYP/IYD, JCIN Amb. Eson Blessing Osariemen who disclosed this to newsmen said “After a rigorous selection process, 30 exceptional young professionals were shortlisted, and Nigerian voters now have the opportunity to decide who among the 10 selected young professionals will receive the prestigious awards.”
According to him, “The shortlisted nominees represent a diverse array of fields and achievements, reflecting the broad spectrum of talent and dedication among Nigeria’s youth.
“The ten voting categories include celebrated entertainers and artists, technology business leaders, outstanding academic performances, world peace advocates, cultural development activists, humanitarian workers, medical professionals, agricultural innovators, educators, environmental protectors, political advocates, and public service leaders.
“Since its inception in 1983, the JCI/TOYP Awards have recognized and celebrated young individuals under the age of 18 to 40 who have excelled in their chosen fields and have made significant positive impacts on their communities. JCI, a membership-based non-profit organization active in over 100 countries, prides itself on fostering young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are committed to creating positive change.”
Going further, JCIN Amb. Blessing Osariemen disclosed that the TOYP Awards have a storied history, with past recipients including notable figures such as Dr. Ola Orekunrin, Ray Ekpu, Sir Shina Peters, Kanu Nwankwo, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, Daddy Showkey, Richard Mofe Damijo, Gbenga Sesan, Linda Ikeji, Japheth Omojuwa, and the late legends Bimbo Odukoya, MEE Mofe-Damijo, and Amaka Igwe. These individuals were recognized for their achievements and contributions before the age of 40, often prior to attaining widespread national acclaim.
