The Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, (BORBDA), Engr. Saliu Ahmed congratulates Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Hon Dennis Idahosa on their resounding victory in the Edo governorship election.

The Edo State INEC Returning Officer declared the APC gubernatorial candidate and his deputy as winners of the governorship election held on Saturday, September 21, having substantially garnered the highest number of votes cast during the election.

Engr. Ahmed’s message to the APC duo, personally signed by him, attributed the victory to the collective will of the Edo people who shared in their five-point agenda of taking the State to greater heights and restoring the State’s lost glory.

Engr. Ahmed prayed for God’s wisdom as they steer the ship of the State and urged them to be magnanimous in victory and not get carried away by the spoils of office.

He equally commended the Edo APC leaders led by the indefatigable Senator Adams Oshiomhole for the sacrifices and unity of purpose they displayed before, during, and after the election.

He also alluded to the broad-based support enjoyed by Senator Okpebholo as reflected in the votes he received across the senatorial districts in the State, adding it is a sign of how Edo people generally perceive the incoming administration

Engr Ahmed, along with other APC leaders in Etsako, played a significant role in maintaining the APC dominance in the area.

Most importantly, his influence and support played a crucial role in helping the APC whittle down the influence of Labour Party deputy governorship candidate in Auchi where they both hail from.

Going by the results of the election in the Ward, Engr. Ahmed demonstrated his political prowess as the APC won virtually all the votes cast at the polling unit.

In response to the tense atmosphere following the election, he called for calm and urged the people to set aside their differences and support the newly elected governor whom he described as a “true homeboy” who means well for his people and State.
