Be Security Conscious During Yuletide Season – Ag. NYSC DG Tells Corps Members

The Acting Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Christy Uba, has cautioned Corps members posted to Edo State to be security conscious at all times and report any suspicious characters within their environment to the appropriate authorities during yuletide season.
She gave the advise at the Swearing-In ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream II at Okada, the administrative headquarters of Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State.
According to Uba, “You are strongly advised to be security conscious at all times and to report any suspicious characters or activities around you to the appropriate authorities.”
The Ag. DG of NYSC who was represented by the State Coordinator, Mrs. Olubukola Abiodun also admonished Corps members to avoid using the social media to spread fake news, fuel hatred and other negative purposes, instead, deploy same for the promotion of national unity and development.
While looking at the level of unemployment in the country, the Age. DG, reminded them to leverage on the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of the scheme to better their lots.
“At this juncture, I will like to remind you that White-collar jobs are not readily available.
“Therefore, I encourage you to avail yourselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
“You are expected to choose from any of the skill areas and make yourselves available for the training which starts from the Orientation Camp.
“On our part, Management will continue to work with relevant stakeholders for the success of the programme “, she said.
