Akoko-Edo local government area chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has faulted some publications currently trending on social media credited to the Legacy Group faction of the party requesting for the removal of Engr. Omobayo Godwins Marvelous as deputy governor of the State.
In a statement signed by Prince Kayode Ogunnubi, Akoko-Edo local government party chairman, and made available to newsmen in Benin City, Edo Stare capital said “All parochial, attention seekers and self-serving individuals calling for the Deputy Governor’s removal are failed politicians, who lack the legitimacy and trust to speak for the good people of Akoko-Edo.”
According to Prince Ogunnubi, “The call by a faceless and attention seeking Paul Dada who purportedly represents the Legacy Group faction of the People Democratic party (PDP) in Edo North and reported the decision of the group in various social media platforms calling for the removal of the newly inaugurated digital Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, High Chief Engr. OMOBAYO GODWINS MARVELOUS was a joke taken too far.
“The inauguration of the Deputy Governor, which triggered overwhelming commendation and jubilation across the state and ushered in fresh hope with sense of belonging in Edo North and Akoko-Edo in particular, has continued to put the Deputy Governor’s adversaries in obvious panic mode.”
Going further, the Akoko-Edo PDP chairman added that prominent leaders of Edo North expressed satisfaction for the choice of Engr OMOBAYO GODWINS MARVELOUS as the new Deputy Governor of Edo State.
“The former Deputy Governor of Edo State and Former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Mike Ogiadomhe, Senator Victor Oyofo, Senator Yisa Braimoh, Chief Olu Fashanu, the Iyama of Okpe Kingdom; Speaker EDHA, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, Rt.Hon Yekini Idaiye, Council Chairmen in Edo North, Hon Chief Shegun Saiki, Senatorial Chairman, Mr. Ademola Shaibu-Ekha, Hon. Johnson Abolagba, Amb Dele Idaomi, Elder Olu Dania, Mrs. P O. Balogun, Okomayin Monday Sule, Hon. Onaivi Ojo, Mr Abiodu Johnson, Hon. Inumidun Taiwo, Hon. Henry Ashefor, Hon. Solomon Taiwo (JP), Hon.
