Okoukoni Passes Vote Of Confidence On Ativie-led LP Exco
…Urges stakeholders to work with her to succeed

Edo State chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) based in Abuja and founder of Okoukoni Care Foundation, Mr. Martins Azekhumhen Okoukoni has passed vote of confidence on Rt. Hon. Elizabeth Ativie-led Edo State Caretaker Committee and urged Edo stakeholders of the party to work with her to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming September 21, governorship election.
Recalled the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi on 27th May, 2024 inaugurated 17-man caretaker committee headed by Rt. Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie due to the expiration of the tenure of Ogbaloi-led Executive Council which ended in April, 2024.
Speaking to newsmen at his residence in Abuja, yesterday, Okoukoni said Rt. Hon. Ativie is a jolly good fellow haven served at the state and national level as Edo State Chairperson and National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) respectively.
“Under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Elizaberth Ativie as the State Chairperson of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State branch, youths in Edo State witnessed a lot of developments which later earned her the National President of the council. Such person should be well commended and congratulated.”
Going further, the former LP governorship aspirant added that those trying to divide Labour Party should have a rethink and work for the party to move forward in Edo State. They should give peace a chance and allow the Ativie-led Caretaker Committee to win more laurels as we approaches the gubernatorial election in the state.
“As a chieftain of Labour Party and former governorship aspirant in Edo State, I am strongly behind the ex Edo State Speaker, Hon. Elizabeth Ativie, because of her articulate and vibrant representation while she was at the state assembly.
“I hereby appeal to all members of the Labour Party to rally round Hon. Ativie-led Exco, our candidate, Barr. Olamide Osaigbovo Akpata towards ensuring victory in the coming election slated for 21st September, 2024,” he added
