Prepare Yourself For Leaders Of Tomorrow – Edogiawierie Urges Nigeria Youths

Youths have been advised to take up meaningful ventures to adequately prepare themselves for leadership position.

Edo Branch Vice Chairman of Nigerian Red Cross Society, Pastor Monday Edogiawierie stated this at a workshop held in Benin City.

Pastor Edogiawierie said the essence of the workshop was to chat a way forward ahead of the 2022 for the society.

He explained that the workshop which attracted people from all walks of life across the state was aimed at redirecting youths to focus on skills to engage them positively.

Pastor Edogiawierie said the body was poised to do more in 2022 to move the society forward.

Branch Secretary of the Society, Mr. Wilson Ekhomogiazin who noted that the Nigerian Red Cross had over one million volunteers across the country of which 75% of them are youths, stressed the need for government to provide enabling environment for them to compete favourably with their counterparts in other countries of the world.

He noted that Edo Branch of the Nigerian Red Cross witnessed unprecedented infrastructure development under Comrade Festus Alenkhe with the support of Edo State government and other well meaning Nigerians.

He explained that the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of volunteers and to plan for 2022 to better reposition the society.

The Branch Communication Coordinator, Oghenetejiri Ovwhigho said the body was ready to continue the such trainings for leaders to be able to effectively communicate messages to their followers from top-bottom approach and vice versa.

Some of the participants at the event commended the leadership of Edo State Red Cross and promised to put the knowledge acquired into practical use.

They call for collaboration of government, well meaning individuals and corporate organizations for more trainings.
