I Will Represent Edo North But Have Obligation To Edo State – Sen Oshiomhole
By Simeon OSAJIE
Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole have said that he will represent Edo North but have obligation to Edo State.
Sen. Oshiomhole stated this during the post inauguration/thank you party hosted in his honour by friends at his country home, Iyamho, Etsako West local government area of Edo State.
He particularly thanked the Afemai people for the honor done him by voting for him as a senator in the February 25 general elections.
According to him, “There were sitting governors who contested for senate across the country and many of them lost, I left office 7 years ago and my people still honoured me with victory, how can I thank you enough.”
He said he understands clearly the message of the people which are in two folds; first, they are grateful people contrary to what one or two persons may do from Afemai land that Afemai people are basically good people and good nature adding that the sins of one man does not represent the spirit of others in the senatorial district.
Secondary, that they would want him to repeat what he did before as governor or nothing less probably do more and assured them that he will not do anything less when he gets to Abuja.
The senator also thanked the people for the overwhelming votes for the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the elections.
“During the campaign, I told you if you want to give me one vote give it to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I said to you it was better he won as a president even if I lost as senator than for me to win as senator and he loses as president, in the end I’m very proud to say and to repeat today here and now that in each of these 6 local governments every ward Bola Ahmed Tinubu won, every ward Adams Oshiomhole won.
“In Etsako land everywhere Anamero won, today I can say I will proudly carry the results of Afemai people and I will say Mr. President this is my certificate, my people voted for you,” he said.
While thanking Hon. Dennis Idahosa and Hon. Billy Osawaru for delivery their respective constituencies to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, however assured the people that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will change the face of Nigeria and as president will make Edo State better even than Lagos.
He particularly thanked the Benin people as he said will never forget the record set by then in 2012 when he contested for his 2nd term, saying that the people voted for him and he won all the 77 wards in Benin kingdom nobody has ever enjoyed such trust and confidence.
He urged Hon. Dennis Idahosa and Hon. Billy Osawaru to take the message home that he will represent Edo North but have Obligation to Edo State.
Sen. Oshiomhole said he is humbled “if you have voted against me, I don’t know my blood pressure will now be 240/360 that is if I’m still alive because the jubilations by the opponent would have been such that they will come and lock my small door and break my small bones, but you said no”, he emphasized.
Oshiomhole said the president has a particular interested in Edo state saying right from the primaries Edo people were with him through Edo State delegates and in the election Edo people were still with him with the manner they all voted, so he is very appreciative.
