Edo Dep. Speaker Calls For Massive Support For Asue Ighodalo

Ahead of the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State, the Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko, has called on councillors in Esan Central  local government council to give their unalloyed support to the PDP governorship candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo.

Oligbi-Edeko made the call in Benin City, today Monday 13, 2024 when she received members of the legislative arm of Esan Central Local Government Council in her office.

She noted that Ighodalo has the intellectual capacity to govern and move the State to higher heights in terms of development and social welfare.

“As you go back to your various units and wards, go all out and campaign vigorously for Barr. Asue Ighodalo to win the governorship election because he is a man with a proven track record of achievements in the global business community and would attract massive investment if elected as governor of Edo State.

According to her, the PDP has brought the best candidate in Esanland in the person of Barr. Asue Ighodalo and we must all go out to ensure victory for the survival of our dear state and our children’s future.

The Deputy Speaker, further called on the councillors to provide logistics to the local vigilante in their domain in order to effectively combat insecurity at the grassroots.

“These gallant men and women who have volunteered to secure our lives and property should be encouraged so that they can put in their best.

“Kidnapping is on the increase in Esanland and we are all now running, so we need to come together collectively to support the successful operations of the local security network,” she added.

Earlier, Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Council,  Hon. Victor Okosun, who led other counsellors to the office of Deputy speaker, said they were in the assembly to observe plenary and seized the opportunity to visit her.

Okusun who thanked the Deputy Speaker for opening their eyes to legislative activities, said they were going back to their various wards to implement what they have learnt.

He appealed to the Deputy Speaker to help them come up with laws that can make the legislative arm stronger at the local level to  enable them carry out their work diligently.
