Samson Osagie’s Suspension: What a Test for Edo APC Leaders

I thank you Elder Chris Osas Emovon for your very brilliant commentary on the funny suspension of our amiable, articulate and outspoken Hon. Dr. Samson Osagie, a young man I remain proud of.

When I read the statement announcing his suspension, I declared outrightly that it was the work of petty and miscellaneous juveniles in power. I even doubted if the Governor was properly briefed. Again I wondered if the insanity that has continued to bedevil the executive arm of government has corroded the golden conscience of our dearly beloved Samson.

Curious! I sent a query to Dr. Samson Osagie and in response, he sent me his reaction to the announcement of his suspension. Not only did he assert his innocence but he added that nobody contacted him on the purported indictment before the announcement. Again, could Samson be lying on this?

Even if he was caught carrying a drum full of money on his head out of government Treasury , which is far from him anyway, would he not have been queried before discipline and announcement?

This case is more serious than it looks considering its far reaching implications.

When I heard of Samson Osagie’s appointment as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, I didn’t congratulate him because I felt it was the Governor and the good people of Edo State that deserve congratulations for having such a political titan cum erudite lawyer in our cabinet.

The governor is thus at a crossroads. If he is able to prove his charges against Samson Osagie, it will get many wondering how gold rusts so fast under his watch. But if Osagie is able to prove his innocence, gold will become scared from the administration.

What a test for the leaders of APC in Edo State!
