Edo Best Award Introduces Inaugural Lecture Into Its 7th Edition

All is now set for the 7th Edition of Prestigious Best of Edo Award 2024 slated for 20th October, 2024 at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub on Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State capital.
In a statement signed by Paul Ofoni, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Best of Edo Awards disclosed that a new feature of this year’s event is the introduction of an Inaugural Lecture, themed: “Building a Moral Economy: Strategy for Sustainable Development.”
According to the statement, the lecture which is a critical addition, will be reflecting the need for discussions on ethical governance and economic sustainability. “The lecture aims to inspire both the private and public sectors to adopt strategies that foster long-term growth, inclusivity, and corporate responsibility, driving development across Edo State.”
The statement noted: “The 7th edition of the Best of Edo Award is particularly notable for its significant focus on the business community. With over 65% of this year’s award recipients representing business brands, this year’s planning has spotlighted the critical role businesses play in the state’s development. By honouring these enterprises, the award underscores the importance of entrepreneurship, innovation, and corporate governance in driving sustainable economic growth.
“The event will draw a distinguished audience, including CEOs, Managing Directors, traditional rulers, the clergy, heads of government and private organizations, civil society organizations, members of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Medical Association, Vice-Chancellors of universities, Rectors of polytechnics, and political leaders. This esteemed gathering will make for a robust dialogue during the Inaugural Lecture and create a platform for both knowledge exchange and the celebration of excellence. It’s going to be an evening of glitz and glamour.”
While stating that the Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Mr. Kelvin Uwaibi has been pivotal in ensuring the success of this year’s event, Ofoni noted that through ESIPO’s collaboration, the business community has been mobilized and coordinated, creating an environment conducive to sustainable growth.
The statement pointed out that Edo State has become a prime destination for investment, largely thanks to the agency’s proper coordination of the business sector, which has enhanced the state’s economic attractiveness.
The statement added that event will feature live entertainment from classical and professional music artists, comedians, and other performances, making it not only a platform for recognition but also for recreation and networking.
“Since its inception, the Prestigious Best of Edo Award has stood as a beacon of excellence, recognizing the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations to the socio-economic and cultural development of Edo State and beyond. Over the years, the award has prominent figures from Edo State.
“Renowned for its high standard, the Best of Edo Award has established itself as one of the most prestigious awards not only in Edo State but also across the southern part of Nigeria. It continues to inspire, uplift, and celebrate those who drive progress and excellence in various sectors,” the statement concluded.
