Imasuagbon, A Shining Star @57
Within seconds of meeting him, you can tell the kind of person he is. He is a man who always has a smile on his face, loving and living to improve the lives of those he meets, in addition to his desire of making an impact in the society.
Often referred to as the “Riceman” because of his annual distribution of rice across the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State, Kenneth Imasuagbon could be described as a man whose star has just started to shine at 57.
Imasuagbon who marks his 57th years on earth on Thursday, May 4th, is a man whose impact and contributions to the growth and development of mankind in the society, has left many bewildered considering the youthful age that he started his philanthropic gesture.
Born in 1966 in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, education pursuit saw the young Imasuagbon attending his primary and secondary schools in Ijebu and Ago-Iwoye respectively in Ogun State before he proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State where he bagged his Law degree and thereafter rounded up at the Nigerian Law School in 1992.
With dint of hardwork and God’s providence, fortune smiled on the young Imasuagbon who subsequently made his presence felt in Abuja where he ultimately began his life and also his humanitarianism.
From his humble beginning at the Federal Capital City (FCT), the trained lawyer was to quickly establish himself as a major player in the education sector where he founded one of the most sought after schools in the nation’s capital city, The Pacesetters Group of Schools.
It is impossible to overstate Imasuagbon’s influence on education in Abuja and indeed in Nigeria in general.
Disturbed by the plight of underprivileged children, Imasuagbon instituted and has been sponsoring several education competitions, football competitions, as well as providing scholarships to indigent students across the country, including his home State of Edo.
The lawyer turned educationist who said he had always armed himself with the slogan that “You lift yourself up by lifting others” believed that the quest for a better society is the responsibility of all and not that of the government alone.
In several fora, Imasuangbon who has made his intention known to govern Edo State said that “one’s contributions to the growth and development of the society only come to an end when dead.
Imasuagbon who had long joined partisan politics, believed that his political experience and his private sector knowledge would made the difference in all spheres that would see to the improvement and also enhanced the standard of living of Edolites.
Bright and conscientious, Imasuagbon is a man who has remained a shining star even at 57.
