Aziegbemi announced the decision during a thank you party for PDP members in Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, while speaking with journalists.

He implored the party members, including those that defected before the elections, to take advantage of the amnesty, assuring them that they would be forgiven and received with open arms.

The Edo State PDP chairman called on party members to come together to form a formidable party that would lead the people of Edo State the way Governor Obaseki was leading the state.

“For me as the state chairman, I am offering a blanket amnesty to all members of the party who did wrong during the elections. So that everything that was done before now is gone.

“The idea now is for all the PDP members in the state to come together to form a formidable party.

“Let us come together going forward, so that together we can form a very strong party to lead Edo State the way the governor is leading the state.

“All what had happened, had happened and it is gone. Let us come together to build this party to what it was before, where all of us were together.

“There really wasn’t a quarrel. It was just contestation for power, and it is expected.

“There is nothing wrong with that, and we are not holding any grudges against anybody”, he assured.

“To PDP members who defected before elections, he said “PDP is your home. For what ever reason you left, I am saying come back. We will welcome you with open arms.”

On the issue of the speakership of the next Edo State House of Assembly, Dr. Aziegbemi said the party leadership in the state will meet at appropriate time and come up with the best decision.

According to him, the party (PDP) under the leadership of the governor believes in justice and fair play.

“I strongly believe that when the time comes to choose, the leadership will meet and look at the issues and I believe the best decision will be made”, he assured expressed gratitude to members for working assiduously to secure victory for the party in Esan South-East Local Government during the state assembly election.
