A former Edo North senatorial chairman and Edo State Organizing Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe, has urged Edo North leaders to close ranks and refrain from making statement capable of dividing Afenmai as well as sowing a seed of discord among the components groups.

Hon. Tenebe, who spoke with newsmen in Benin, the Edo State capital, over the weekend, was reacting to a statement credited to Senator Yisa Braimoh in which the distinguished senator asserted that Owan and Akoko-Edo axis of the state are politically marginalised by Etsako.

He insisted that there is unity of purpose and a strong bond among the three separate axis which make up the senatorial district.

Hon. Tenebe alluded to the fact that, Etsako, despite its numerical advantage over Owan and Akoko Edo in terms of voters population has dealt with its other component units in a fair and equitable manner.

In particular, he noted that for eight unbroken years, Etsako fully supported both Owan and Akoko Edo to hold the district’s senatorial ticket and then queried the source of the talks about marginalisation.

In addition, he said there was a time in Edo North political history when the deputy governor and Speaker of the House was domiciled in Owan axis and the Etsako’s did not at anytime lament about marginalisation, rather rendered the necessary support to them.

Hon. Tenebe further urged Edo North leaders to close ranks and refrain from making statement capable of dividing Afenmai as well as sowing a seed of discord among the components groups.
