Faith Aigbe’s Death: Case Before Homicide Section Of The State CID, Says Police PRO

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs has called on the family of late Faith Aigbe, 27, who was find dead inside the car of the Enogie of Uroho in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo state and the general public to remain calm as the case has been referred to the Homicide Section of the State CID to continue the investigation to ascertain what led to her death rather than claiming different thing.
He said this in a telephone interview with The9jaTREND today the 10th of September, 2021
According to SP Kontongs Bello, “the lady visit her Enogie on the 8th of September, 2021. When they were still at home in the night, the lady begin to complain of stomach pain and the Enogie drove her to the hospital. On arrival, the doctor confirmed her dead.
“So, the Enogie reported himself to the police station at Ologbo. The case presently has been transferred to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigative Department (CID) to continue the investigation to ascertain what led to her death rather than claiming different thing.”
On Tuesday, 9th September, 2021, petty Faith Aigbe lifeless body was found inside SUV Sports Utility car of one Iguodala Ogieriakhi, the Enogie of Uroho in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State.
The situation led to serious apprehension, if not the intervention of the Edo State Police Command, as some angry sympathizers broke the windscreen of the car to catch a glimpse of the dead body.
Police officers from Aideyan police division arrived at the scene and towed the vehicle along with Faith’s remains to the Aideyan Police Station.
However, the body of the 27-year-old Faith Aigbe has been deposited in a mortuary for further investigation.
The9jaTREND further gathered that the Enogie has since reported himself in Ologbo Police Division, Edo state, where the police have kept him for further investigation.
The9jaTREND further investigation revealed that, the Enogie of Uroho, Enogie Iguodala Ogieriakhi was said to have proposed to marry the deceased.
According to the Enogie, “Faith is a woman l proposed to marry. She lives with me in my palace. But I have been having issue with some of her family members who do not want me to marry her.
“Faith was eight months pregnant for me, but some of her family members were against our marriage. When they find out she was pregnant for me, they encouraged her to commit abortion which led to her death.
“I have had a serious quarrel with the people who did it. Suddenly, today Thursday 9 September, 2021 around 3 am, I heard her screaming in my house. She complained of serious stomach pain. I quickly rushed her to a private hospital, but they rejected her and referred us to another hospital.
“But when we got to Specialist Hospital, the doctors in the hospital came to check her, they pronounced her dead while she was still in my car.
It was at that point, I quickly reported myself to the police station near my house.
The Enogie of Uroho denied killing the woman, assuring that an autopsy would prove his innocence.
Iguodala Ogieriakhi said he loved Faith and was ready to marry her.
However, two of the family members of the deceased, Mrs. Janet Asemota and Mercy Eddy, have asked the police to ensure thorough investigation is carried out, because, according to them, they suspect foul play.
