The Enogie of Ukhiri Community, His Royal Highness Godwin Osayande Aigbe has debunked the social media reports alleging that he is the one masterminding the killing at Ukhiri Community in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State and therefore called on Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin Kingdom and other relevant authorities to come to his aid and alleged that one Ohen Philip Uworia and others from the Diaspora made several attempt to kill him and all those who supported him as the Enogie.

While briefing  newsmen in an enlarge meeting attended by Ukhiri indigenes which was conveyed at the instant of His Royal Highness, Godwin Osayande Aigbe, the Enogie said, the meeting is to brief his subjects and tell the world that the allegations reportedly leveled against his person were not true.

He disclosed that the reported killings in Ukhiri Community were targeted against his person and all those who support him as the Enogie.

According to the Enogie, “I have observed that in the social media which is all over everywhere; they are carrying defamatory statement about me that I killed or masterminded the killing of persons in my village. And I’m here to debunk it in its entirety that that statement is false. 

“The issue of the killing in Ukhiri, was meant to wipe out my supporters, after they made several attempt murder me. The allegation is false. The Diaspora send money through Ohen Philip Uworia, Samuel Ugiagbe, Saturday Okpeavbere and their cohort to come and kill those people who are against Diaspora land.”

Enogie Aigbe also affirmed that it is only the Oba of Benin that has the power and the traditional authority to appoint Ohen for the village deity.

He appealed to the Oba of Benin and other relevant authorities to come to his aid by calling the Ohen (Philip Uworia) and his Diaspora group to order in order to restore peace in the village.

“I want to beg our great Oba, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku, Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin Kingdom to please intervene and come to my aid as my life is being threatening by Oben Philip Uworia and his cohorts to eliminate me and my supporters as the Enogie of Ukhiri Community.

“In Benin, they said, ‘Ogie Ayevbona, meaning, ‘land is given to the Enogie in trust’, but  right now Ohen Philip Uworia who is even imposing himself as Ohen is liaising with people in Diaspora; they call them Mama Island, Julie Uworia and one Matthew  Obasogie, Efosa Osifo, James Idiaghe – these are the people who are selling Ukhiri land and bringing money to Philip Uworia, who is putting yourself as Ohen.

The youth leader and some women in the community also called for the intervention of relevant authorities to end the crisis in the village so that peace can return to foster the development of Ukhiri Community.
