NAA Inaugurates New Executives In Edo

The Edo State chapter of National Association of Auctioneers (NAA) has inaugurated new executive officers to pilot the affairs of the Association.
Speaking at the event which was held at the Central Hotel in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the National Patron of the Association admonished the newly elected Chairman and his exco to remain focused and deligent in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the auctioneering business has been in existence in Benin City for the past 70 years, adding that the body is purely for business of helping the federal, state and local government in enhancing internally generated revenue through auctioning items the government would want to dispose of. He said the Association is devoid of tribal, religious nor cults affiliation.
In his inaugural address, the newly elected Chairman of the Association, Elder Anthony Orukpe Ebhoteme thanked all present for finding time to come to rejoice with the members of the Association on the auspicious occasion of the inauguration of the new leadership of the Association.
He said, ” haven served all the past association chairmen since1984, I have tapped much experience needed to prepare me for the task of piloting the affairs of the association.”
Going further, he added that, “I will carry everyone along in the discharge of my constitutional mandates. I am going to be firm but fair to all and I will use my good offices to unite every member of the Association more than ever before and my expectation is that by this time next year, we shall have our own secretariat.”
He said he would make sure that there are no factions in the body of the Association but rather, he would ensure there is unity among the members of the association as an indivisible entity he stated.
In his presentation, the National Secretary of the Association, Mr. Isibor Abumere on behalf of the National Chairman commended the outgoing executive for diligently piloting the affairs of the Association for the past eight years and for helping the government at the local, State and the federal government in boosting and enhancing the internally generated revenue.
“I must commend the outgoing exco for a job well done for piloting the affairs of the Association and also for electing credible people to lead the association,” Mr. Abureme said
On his part, the Edo State Commissioner of Police who was represented by the DCP Dahiru Muhammed, congratulated the newly elected chairman and other elected officers of the Association.
“I bring you greetings from the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro. I want to use the opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Chairman, Elder Anthony Orukpe Ebhoteme, whom I have known for a long time to be a perfect gentleman, a transparent, accountable and honest man to the core, a man you can count on and I want to say that I am sure his tenure will no doubt translate to greater progress for the association. I want to let you know that the CP congratulates you for your elections and promises to continue to relate with you as usual and wish you all success in your endeavours,” he said.
Other officers inaugurated at the occasion include the Publicity Secretary, Chief Eddy Ogbomoh, Nosa Ehijiator – Assistant Secretary, Major Nwosu – Auditor amongst others.
