BSM Calls For Urgent Prosecution Of Activist Who Brutalized Police Orderly

Benin Solidarity Movement, ( BSM), a socio cultural group and non-profit making organization has called on the Inspector General Of Police (IG), Alkali BabaUsmanto urgently prosecute Prof. Zainab Duke Abiola, a legal practitioner Human Rights Activist who brutalized a Police orderly attached to her in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Zainab Duke, an Mbaise born activist and her domestic staff comprising the house maid, one Rebecca Enechido and a male suspect currently at large over assault on a female police officer, Inspector Teju Moses, her orderly on Tuesday 20th September, 2022 at her residence in Garki, Abuja, due to the refusal of the orderly to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at her house.
In a press statement issued and signed by Ambassador Curtis Eghosa Ugbo and Esohe Adun, President and Secretary respectively, the group condemned the attack on the innocent police officer who was carrying out her officer duty peacefully by helping to protect the offenders without provocation.
The group wondered why police men and women should be deployed to highly influential people and thereby leaving the downtrodden Nigerians at their own mercy.
He said, “Her principal, Prof. Zainab Duke Abiola and her domestic staff, comprising the housemaid, Rebecca Enechido, and a male suspect at large, who were said to have brutalized the orderly be made to face the wrought of the law.
“The female officer, Inspector Teju Moses on Tuesday in Garki, Abuja was assaulted by her principal and her domestic staff.”
It was said that Abiola, a legal practitioner and human rights activist had attacked the female officer following her refusal to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at her house.

A trending video on social media showed the Inspector in pain, with a bloody face. BSM advised the Inspector General of Police to urgently withdraw police orderliness from these people and deploy them to their normal duties.
The group commended the Inspector General of Police for directing the immediate prosecution of the suspects in custody as the preliminary investigation shows overwhelming evidence of culpability on the part of the professor and her domestic staff.
The group further tasked the investigative team to ensure that the fleeing suspect was arrested and made to face the law.
