Some Feared Dead as FG Clamp down on IPOB, ESN Agitators

By The9jaTREND
The Eastern part of Nigeria has been in the news for some time now as a result of the clamp down of citizens in the forefront of the total emancipation and calling for independence from the Federal government of Nigeria.
It was like a wide fire spreading and moving very furiously from one location to another till it now berthed in Imo state, it was fearsome and affected the economic activity adversely.
The clamp down on the hideout of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) was carried out by the Joint Task Force code name Operation UDOKA in the South East of the country to sustain the fight against the outlawed IPOB/ESN organization aimed at restoring peace and normalcy in the regional zone.
Notably on the 19th February 2023, troops made contacts with the agitators, IPOB and ESN organization while responding to an attack on a location along Umuleri – Onitsha road.
Following the engagement, many members of the IPOB and ESN were arrested.
Again on the 13th and 18th February, 2023 at a location within Okigwe local government areas of Imo state, the operation was carried out based on intelligent reports about the regrouping of the IPOB and ESN organizations at a location and there was an explosion which led to the arrest of the IPOB and ESN members.
The casualties were enormous as the Federal government troop dropped some explosives in one of the buildings where the IPOB and ESN members were suspected to be having their meeting. The following people who have been under the watch list of the government and also believe to be the sponsors of the proscribed organizations were feared dead during the operation; Ukachukwu Nonso, a successful entrepreneur, Godwin Obichukwu Okereke, Managing Director Big Boss Supermarket Limited based in Surulere Lagos and Chairman Intel Group of Schools in Oworoshoki also in Lagos and one Amadin Alikwe who also owns a big farm in one of the Northern states in Nigeria.
Apart from the clamp down of the bases of these IPOB and ESN organizations, acting on intelligent findings the people or indigenes believe to be in support or one way or the other linked to these groups are also being sought after which they have made many to scamper for safety either within the country or outside the country.
However these notable persons have been on the watch list of the special task force for some time and are seriously sought after, but another group allured that it could be as a result of political affiliation fighting for the good governance of the state.
However the Federal government is doing all within available resources to ensure the safety of residents in Imo state and curtail the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network before they will be out of control.
