Purported Alliance Of Obi, Obaseki; Big Lie Meant To Deceive LP Supporters – Ogbaloi
By Simeon OSAJIE
Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP), Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi has debunked the trending social media reports that the presidential candidate and the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Peter Obi and Barr Julius Abure respectively had meeting with the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the Secretary to the Edo State government, Barr Osorodion Ogie is unfounded, baseless, mere falsehood lacking in objectivity, logic and truth.
According to Ogbaloi, “Our attention has been drawn to a current trending news on the social media to the effect that the Presidential Candidate of our great Party, Mr Peter Obi and the National chairman, Barr Julius Abure had a meeting with governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki and the Secretary to the Edo state government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie during the last visit of the two principal officers of our great party to Edo state is mere fabrication whose sole intent is to mislead the simple minded.
“Ordinarily, it is not in my nature to respond to every diatribe, especially of misguided deceit.
“However, where the line between truth and falsehood, as well as between fact and fiction, have become so thin, it is incumbent on us, to set the records straight, lest the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Edo sinking Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), known for their penchant for half-truths, deflection of attention from truth be allowed to mislead unsuspecting reading public, particularly our teeming supporters.
“Let me state here categorically, to start with, that such meeting never held and that the Labour party would never have any such evil alliance with political parties that have squandered our patrimonial plenitude and place millions of Nigerians on poverty level.
What may be gleaned from the empty and futile attempt to throw truth on its head, is that the APC and the PDP is already seeing their second defeat at the forthcoming State House of Assembly election slated for Saturday 18 and therefore catching on every available straw for survival but unfortunately it is too late as their years of misrule will ever remain indelible in the annals of our national history as a people.”
Going further, Comrade Ogbaloi added: “For the avoidance of doubt, I would therefore want to reiterate here that the coming of our Presidential Candidate and our National Chairman was meant to lend support to our candidates whom have been found to be credible and capable.
“I therefore urge our teeming supporters to disregard the spurious and senseless insinuation as Labour Party will never join forces with the vandals that willfully destroyed our national plenitude and heritage.
“I therefore hereby appeal to the good people of Edo Stste to come out en mass this coming Saturday and give their unflinching support as Labour Party desire to have majority at the Edo House of Assembly.”
