ELECTORAL VIOLENCE: Ogbebor Family Begs Obaseki For Mercy Over Daughter’s Accusation

The family of Mr. Friday Ogbebor has appealed to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the executive governor of Edo State to forgive their daughter, Victoria Ogbebor for wrongfully accusing him of using thugs to cause electoral violence during the February 25 General Election.
Recall, Victoria Ogbebor had in the social media accused Governor Obaseki of sponsoring thugs to snatch ballot papers and disrupt voting during the presidential and national assembly election at some polling centres in Benin City, the state capital.
Pa. Friday Ogbebor who led other members of the family to the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, tendered the apology on behalf of her daughter, Victoria; who has gone into hiding for fear of being arrested by men of the Department of State Services, (DSS).
“Your Excellency, you are my father, you are our father, you are the people’s governor, I sincerely plead with you to have mercy on me, my daughter, my family, have mercy, have mercy, she was not in her senses, I didn’t know the spirit that enters into her, that makes her to do that, please Mr. Governor, have mercy on me sir,” Pa Ogbebor pleaded.
Expressing their apology to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Pa. Ogbebor and members of his family prostrated, to demonstrate the degree of their deepest apology to the governor concerning the action of their daughter.
