Super Eagles Threaten To Boycott AFCON Qualifier Over Unpaid Allowances
By Simeon OSAJIE
Super Eagles stars have threatened to boycott 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier over unpaid bonuses and allowances.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) failed to pay some of the outstanding bonuses and allowances as promised ahead of the recent double-header against Guinea-Bissau.
The players said they are ready to boycott the game against the Leone Stars to show their displeasure over the action of the NFF.
The Super Eagles are owed bonuses and allowances for at least 19 matches running over two years.
The encounter against Sierra Leone is slated for Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Super Eagles tops Group A with nine points from four games.
A draw against Sierra Leone will be enough for the three-time African champions to seal a place in Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
