The President of One Love Foundation and human rights activist, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor (a.k.a. Ultimate Equals) has cried for help against Edo State government officer who is using the instrumentality of the law enforcement agencies to intimidate him because he is acting as the voice of the voiceless on vital societal issues.
Displaying a letter emanating from the office of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sani Fodio of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Edo State Police Command, Chief Ehoor said: “I cannot be intimidated or bullied for expressing my view on issues touching on the soul of the nation. The Freedom of Information (FOI) act is well designed and it is enacted to protect Nigerians from such acts of intimidation.
“The Police will have to define what’s cyberstalking and inciting violence as stated in their letter of invitation to me dated Monday, June 5, 2023.”
The ACP in his letter stated: “This office is investigating a case of false information, cyberstalking, inciting violence and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
“Consequently, you are kindly requested to have a dialogue with the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Edo State Command Headquarters, Benin City through the Officer in Charge, Political Desk Office on Wednesday, 7th of June 2023 at 12pm. This is to facilitate our investigation.
“Accept the warm regards of the Commissioner of Police, Edo State please.”
It would be recalled that recently the issue of fuel hoarding caused open altercation between the activist and one Comrade Robinson Akhenoba, who goes by the alias Political Evangelist, believed to be a proxy of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
