The Labour Party (LP) in Edo State has stated that it would continue to keep it doors open for aspirants vying for the 2024 governorship election including embattled Edo deputy governor, Comrade hilip Shaibu.
Labour Party State Chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi who to The9jaTREND in Benin City, Edo State capital explained the party has no issues with embattled Edo deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
He said the deputy governor has the option of joining the LP as an aspirant for the forthcoming governorship if interested following his rumoured defection an purported impeachment plan by the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
He added that the statement credited to a former governor of the state and senator representing Edo North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Adams Oshiomhole , that the party is not an IDP camp for embattled politicians is not unconnected with this personal rift between Governor Obaseki and his deputy, Shaibu.
