Extend NYSC Training To Three Months –Eguavoen Urges State, Fed. Govts

The Managing Director of Avo-Pogee & Company Limited and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Elder Peter Otamere Eguavoen has called the President Bola Tinubu and Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General YD Ahmed to extend Corps training to three months training. This he said will make them combat ready of any foreign intervention in case of war in the country.

In a press statement made available to newsmen, Elder Eguavoen said the problem with Nigeria custom as regard the way they intercept and allow imported goods into the country after passing through the border is very alarming. He said if the NYSC members receive thorough training, they would be able to add their wealth of experiences toward policing the activities going on across Nigeria border.

While calling on government offices across country to have chronometer to discourage lateness as it is done in civilized countries in the world, the PDP chieftain urged the federal government apply measure to ensure that all seized goods by custom mostly consumable goods is share among the less privileged in the society.

He therefore admonished youths in the country to be of good behavior by listening to their parents while at home and in the public. “The words of our Elders are the words of wisdom. Enough is enough for a better future,” he said.

On the issue of College of Education, Ekiadolor staff laid off by Edo State government without pay, Elder Eguavoen Governor Godwin Obaseki and Federal Governments to put machineries in motion to ensure they received their entitlements and gratuities to enable them cater for their families.

In conclusion, he called on Edo State Government to find a lasting solution to bigger on the streets of Benin who are constituting nuisance in the society.
