Fear Grips Igueben Residents As Kidnapped Victim Lost Life After Ransom Payment To Abductors

There’s a palpable fear and apprehension within the residents of Igueben local govt area of Edo State as a middle-aged man (Mr. Otobo John), the branch manager Union Bank Igueben lost his life to a kidnapped syndicate along Uromi/Agbor road on the 27th March, 2024.
Until his death, John Otobo who hails from Ward 05, Udoneria Community in Igueben local government area, was the Igueben Union Bank branch manager, Igueben and the only bank in the locality.
According to multiple reports, the families of the late John Otobo managed to pay ransom of N8M as demanded by the abductors after his abduction but only to recover the lifeless body of their son the next day after ransom payment.
As at the time of filing in this report, several phone calls put across by The9jaTREND reporter to the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Chidi Nwanbuzor to get police side of the story proved abortive as his phone line was engaged.
