The Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has approved new minimum wage of N70,000.00 for civil servants in the state.
Governor Obaseki who increased the minimum wage to N70,000 revealed this while commissioning the new Labour House at Temboga Road, Ikpoba Slope, Benin City, Edo State capital today Monday, 29th April, 2024.
According to him, the new wage take effect from May 1st, 2024.
The edifice which is regarded as the most magnificent Labour House in Nigeria, built by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration was named after a foremost labour unionist in the country who hails from the State, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole is the immediate past Governor of Edo State now senator representing Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
