The People of Ebhoijie Community in Esan North-East Constituency II has donated a large parcel of land to the Edo State Government and Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Mrs) Maria Oligbi-Edeko, Esq. to build a Primary Healthcare Centre for the people in the community.
The Deputy Speaker, in company of the Executive Director of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Agency, visited the Elders and people of the community to inform them of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s initiative to bring primary healthcare closer to their doorsteps.
Oligbi-Edeko in her remarks during the visit, told the people the importance of having a primary healthcare system in the community.
She encouraged them to embrace the initiative to avoid traveling long distance in search of medical attention.
She appealed to them to provide a suitable location for the project to be sited.
In their response, the visibly happy Elders of the community donated a very large piece of land which will also accommodate and accessible to three other highly populated communities around Ebhoijie Community.
The proposed project will be sponsored by Edo State Government and Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Mrs.) Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko Esq.
Recalled the state government, through SUBEB had earlier given approval to Mrs. Oligbi- Edeko to construct perimeter fence in Ebhoiyi Demonstration Primary & Idumu-Egelean Primary Schools all in Esan North-East Constituency II.
The construction of a primary healthcare centre in Ebhoijie by the Deputy Speaker and Edo government would be the third projects, she would be embarking on as part of her constituency projects to the people of Esan North-East constituency II.
According to her, the foundation laying ceremony for the three projects will be in the next few days.
