Court Affirms Kadiri As Edo LP Dep. Gov’ship Candidate

A Federal High Court sitting in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja today, Thursday 27th June, 2024, in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/556/2024 between Labour Party and 3 Others Versus INEC, affirmed Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the Edo State gubernatorial election slated for 21st September, 2024.
The Judge clearly stated that the process of the nomination of Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party “over-complied” with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act and subsidiary Guidelines, as well as the Constitution of the Labour.
The Court consequently ordered INEC to accept and process substitution of Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, and accordingly publish his name in the list of candidates.
