Edo Guber: LP Chieftain, Okundaye Condemns Attack On Akpata In Owan

The attacked on Edo 2024 Labour Party (LP) Governorship candidate, Barr. Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata’s campaign team in Owan West local government area of the State ahead of the September 21 gubernatorial election has started generating reaction from political stakeholders across Nigeria, particular Edo State.
The recent condemnation is Dr. Kingsley Okundaye, Labour Party National Transition Committee Chairman of Mobilization, Recruitment and National Coordinator of Labour Party Patriotic Members Congress, who described the act as barbaric and undemocratic called for those involved should be brought to book.
Dr. Okundaye who said those who orchestrated the barbaric act does not mean well for democracy, expressed disappointment that at this modern age and time, people could still resort to backward way of trying to prevent the Labour Party candidate from carrying out his constitutional responsibility.
The LP chieftain who called on the security agencies to fish out those responsible for the dastardly act for prosecution enjoined Edo State government to give all the parties a level playing field during the cause of campaign.
On the tragedy that happened in Jattu Market in Etsako West local government area where the fallen tree claimed some lives, the National Coordinator of Labour Party Patriotic Members Congress while sympathising with those that lost their loved ones in the disaster said the government would have before now carried out precautionary measures the way is done in developed country to avoid such tragedy.
He said that such measure would be one of the policies that will be implemented when Labour Party wins the Edo State governorship election slated for September 21,2024 all a bid to avoid unwanted death.
The Labour party chieftain however enjoined members of the party to carry out their campaign in a civilised manner and shun campaign of calumny.
