Rt. Hon. Ativie, An Extraordinary Women – Deputy Speaker Oligbe-Edeko

Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Rt. Hon. (Mrs) Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko, has described Edo State First Female Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Mrs) Elizabeth Uyinmwen Ativie, as an extraordinary woman, a trailblazer, and a distinguished leader who has left an indelible mark in the annals of Edo State’s political history.
This was contained in a birthday statement signed by Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko and made available to newsmen in Benin City, the state capital.
Oligbi-Edeko stated that Ativie’s journey, marked by courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the service of the people, was a shining example of what it means to be a true public servant.
“As the first female Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, you broke barriers and shattered glass ceilings, paving the way for many women in politics, not just in our state, but across the nation.
“Your leadership during your tenure was characterized by wisdom, fairness, and a deep commitment to justice and equality.
“You navigated the complexities of governance with grace and strength, and your legacy continues to inspire all of us who have had the privilege to serve alongside you.
“Today, as you celebrate another year of life, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your mentorship, your friendship, and your unyielding support.
“You have been a guiding light and a pillar of strength, and I am proud to call you not just a colleague but a sister.
“On this special day and on behalf of the industrious people of Esan North-East Constituency II, I am filled with joy and admiration as I join your family, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating you,” she said.
