PDP Criticizes Oshiomhole Over Comment On Disqualification Of Asue Ighodalo
By Simeon OSAJIE
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Ause/Ogie Campaign Council has debunk claims of the former governor of Edo State and now senatorial representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congeress (APC) that Asue Ighodalo is not a candidate of PDP in the Governorship Election of Edo State scheduled for September 21, laying claims to the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The9JaTREND disclosed that the Deputy Director of Strategic Communications of the campaign council, Dr. Pedro Obaseki stated this at an interactive session with journalists at the state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Edo State Council.
Dr. Obaseki who said the court did not disqualify the PDP governorship candidate but only gave a judgement in favour of Asue Ighodalo, described APC as a failed party that was trying to convince the people with uncharitable words.
According to him, APC had only succeeded in fielding a candidate who cannot interface with the people, shying away from media engagement and speaking to electorate through proxy.
“APC candidate cannot interface with the people he intends to govern. He wants to govern the people who he cannot face and explain to them what he intends to do as governor of Edo State,” he said.
Going further, Dr. Obaseki also condemned the age discrepancies of the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebolo describing it as a dishonest act.
Dr. Obaseki said the governorships candidate of PDP, Barr. (Dr) Asue Ighodalo would bring his wealth of experience in the business world to bare in governing Edo State.
He appealed to Edo people to vote massively for Barr. Ague Ighodalo and Barr, Osarodion Ogie for transformation and better the lots of Edo people.
