The ever-busy highway which links Edo South through Edo Central with Edo North Senatorial Districts of the State, has over the years been in a deplorable condition, exposing commuters to untold hardship before they could access their various destinations.

Governor Okpebholo, upon assumption of office, embarked on massive reconstruction and repair of roads across the State with an assurance to Edo people to provide motorable roads under his watch.

Barely a month in office, the Governor has embarked on reconstruction of some failed portions of the Benin- Ekpoma-Auchi expressway by Obadan Junction, Upper Mission Extension by Aduwawa junction, Temboga road, Upper Ekenwan road, among others.

“The foregoing attests to the importance Governor Okpebholo places on the rehabilitation of the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi road being a Federal road which he undertook the responsibility of fixing despite paucity of funds.”

Some roads already being fixed by the Monday Monday Okpebholo-led administration include the Ehor-Ekpoma axis and others along the route where men and materials are on site to ensure the road is in good shape before the commencement of the rainy season.

Governor Okpebholo was at Uromi, Esan North-East, to inspect a 32KM access road to the Federal Science And Technology College, situated in Amendokhian Community, Uromi, Esan North-East Local government area of the State which are at various stages of completion.

The Governor in company of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry Of Works, John Obanor, Edo State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe and some government officials also inspected Onewa Primary school road, by Utako junction in Uromi and other adjoining roads in the area.

Elated residents in the rural area were full of appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for revisiting the roads after years of abandonment.
