Acting Chairman Embarks on Market Cleaning Campaign in Fugar
…Call on residents to uphold Market Sanitation

As part of efforts to sustain the sanitary culture of residents in Etsako Central LGA, the Acting Chairman of the local government, Hon. Cephas Yakubu Muhammed has embarked on cleaning exercise campaign in Ivhairua Market in the local government area.
The acting Chairman who was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Rosemary Umasor, Secretary to the Local Government, Prof.l Jerome Ileile, however charged all residents to make sanitation a daily affair.
Hon. Mohammed emphasized the importance of good sanitary practices amongst all residents in order to ensure a clean, free flood, safe and sustainable environment across the local government area.
He therefore implored traders to support government’s effort through regular cleaning of the environment, drainages in front of their houses and desist from the unwholesome act of illegal waste disposal especially as we are approaching raining season, saying it is expedient for everyone to take ownership of all infrastructure provided by the government.
On her part, the Head of Environmental Department, Etsako Central local government, Mrs. Christiana Orhewere, said that they are embarking on awareness campaign against bush burning and cleanliness noted that cleanliness is a panacea for public health and well-being saying that free-flow of drainages and clearing of waterlog promotes a healthy environment. She however charged the women and other traders to ensure daily cleaning of their environment.
Also speaking at the exercise, Mrs. Beauty Umoru appreciated the Acting Council Chairman for his good step for making sure the people live in a clean and comfortable environment that is disease-free while urging the market women to follow the sanitation routine adequately.
In another vain, the Council Acting Chairman, Hon. Cephas Yakubu Muhammed had attended the Wash for Healthy Live (W4HL) Project Dissemination Meeting at the Council where he charged the people on the essentials for children and their families to live healthy, prosperous lives.
He encouraged the people to live a healthy life saying Wash is at the core of child health and development for a child’s well-being.
While charging the participants to take the knowledge and skill to their communities in other to make a positive impact, the Council boss said, “We are focusing on bringing clean water, so remember that healthy families are the backbones of a healthy society.”
Assuring all the attendees that his administration will continue to support all related health programs aimed of improving the lives of the people, Hon. Muhammed appreciated the W4HL team for their outstanding performance.
Other who attended the meeting include the Deputy Leader Hon. Ojadi Syvester who represented the leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Yusuf Marwan; Majority Leader, Hon. Festus Ogiator; Hon. Friday Ikhane, councilor representing Ward 4; Hon. Kadiri Karim Erumiseli; Mr Abu Martis Erega and Martins Akinabor.
