Speaker Agbebaku Pull Out From Suit Against 18 LGC Chairmen
…Demands written apology for the embarrassment caused to him and the EDHA

Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku has sought for the withdrawal from the suit filed against the elected Executive Chairmen of the 18 local government councils of the State.
In a letter addressed to Counsel to the Applicants, C. O. Esosa Esq. of No. 2, Victory Street, Benin City by counsel to the speaker, R. O. Isenalumhe & Co., Barristers, Solicitor’s and Notary Public of 15, Egharevba Street, Off Upper Mission Road, Benin City, stated that the speaker did not at any time instructed anybody or commence the action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The letter read:

No 2. Victory Street,
Benin City.
“Sir,
“RE: SUIT NO. B/3405/2025 (EDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, SPEAKER, EDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY & 2 ORS VS. HON. NEWSMAN OGHOMWE. UGIAGBE & ORS.
“DEMAND FOR THE IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL OF THE NAME OF THE EDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND THE SPEAKER OF THE RDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY FROM THIS SUIT
“We are solicitors to THE SPEAKER OF THE EDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY (RT. HON. BLESSING AGBEBAKU), who is hereinafter referred to as Our Client. We have our Client’s definite instructions to write as hereinafter appearing:
“1. That Our Client read on social media with rude shock of the pendency of the above action commenced in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly as 1st Claimant and the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly as 2 Clamant.
“2. That the Speaker did not instruct anybody to commence the shove action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and his name.
Consequently, it is Out Client’s instruction to direct you and we hereby direct you to immediately withdraw the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and the name of the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly from the aforesaid suit.
“Our Client in addition to the aforesaid, demand a written apology for the embarrassment caused to him and the Edo State House of Assembly.
