By Simeon OSAJIE
Distraught family of Mr. Emmanuel Ofobrukueta of Mosogar, in Ethiope West Local Government Council Area of Delta State has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (AIG) to intensify effort to rescue their son, Emmanuel Ofobrukueta and apprehend those behind his abduction.
Briefing journalists on behalf of the family at Asokoro, Abuja, the legal adviser to the family, Frank Tietie, Esq., For FORTHRIGHT CHAMBERS disclosed that Mr. Ofobrukueta was kidnapped by armed men on the 13th of January 2025, in front of his house at Mosogar, near Sapele in Delta State, on the day before he was scheduled to go to Asaba to process and collect his pension payments.
Tietie, Esq stated that the victim has since been in the kidnappers’ den for the past two months despite efforts by the Delta State Police Command to rescue him.
Reading from a press statement, Tietie, Esq stated: “Some members of the victim’s family firmly believe that an analysis of his post-kidnap events particularly the various twists and turns associated with the payment of ransom to the kidnappers just two days after the incident, along with the intelligence provided by a private tracking company, indicates that a possible network involving the victim’s close associates, including the ransom bearers and the actual kidnappers, is still working together to ensure that he remains kidnapped.
“It is upon the above conclusion that the family requests your esteemed intervention to organise a special effort by the Nigeria Police to unravel the kidnapping and ensure the rescue of the victim. The Delta State Police Commend appears to be overwhelmed by the kidnappers’ tactics in this case.
“We thank you for your expected affirmative response to this urgent appeal for help to save Mr. Ofobrukueta’s life. This is an SOS call.”
