Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma has been described as an institution delivering on its mandate of providing quality education for societal development.
This was made known by the Principal Assistant Registrar/Head, Information & Public Relations, Otunba Mike Aladenika during an interactive section with journalists in Benin City.
He said before now there were many issues that retarded the progress of the institution, noting that due to the genuine efforts being made by the present management led by the acting Vice Chancellor, Sunday Olowo Samuel, the university has been repositioned to be a destination of choice for academic excellence.
Aladenika thanked Governor Monday Okpebholo for keeping to his promise as he has not failed to remit the five hundred million naira monthly subvention to the institution.
He also recalled the period the school’s gate was often locked by students and staff due to one unsettled issue or the other. He further said that is now history as the management has put things in place to ensure peace continue to reign in the institution.
He also disclosed that for a very long time the school was unable to induct medical students until Governor Monday Okpebholo intervened on the matter leading to their eventual induction. He added that the institution has also recently inducted 204 nurses.
“We now enjoy good government policies. Things are working fine right now. The school’s Governing Council has just approved the advertisement to fill vacant principal positions in the institution, which include Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Bursar and Liberian”, Aladenika explained.
He thanked the media for the support the university has received from them and appealed its sustenance.
