Journalists Commend EdoGIS MD On Improved Service Delivery

The Managing Director, Edo Geographic Information Service, (EDOGIS) Dr. Tony Ikpasaja has been commended for the giant strides taken to improve on the service delivery of the Agency in land administration and other sundry issues in land development withn the State
They particularly commended the extension of the Agency’s services to the grassroots weeks after Dr. Ikpasaja assumed office as Managing Director.
Recall that recently EDOGIS extended its services to other Senatorial Districts of the State following the recent opening of its two new offices in Ekpoma in Edo Central and Auchi in Edo North.
Responding, the new Managing Director of EDOGIS, Dr. Ikpasaja, who received the executive members of the Edo State Correspondent Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists led by Mr. Patrick Ochoga, in audience in his office on Wednesday, explained why the new offices were created.
According to him, the creation of the new offices in Edo North and Central Senatorial Districts was specifically done not only to ease the operations of the Agency in other parts of the State but also to bring the services of the Agency closer to the commoners in the grassroots.
He further said that the creation of the new offices was done in line with the vision and objectives of His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State who had vowed to permanently lay to rest the interminable issues of land grabbing and encroachment on Government Lands.
He added that each of the offices in both Senatorial Districts is adequately equipped with State-of-the-art equipment and computers manned by well trained personnel to provide accurate and detailed information and reports relating to Land Use Charge and land administration within the districts generally.
Speaking further, the MD EdoGIS noted that with the creation of the new offices in other 2 senatorial districts outside of Benin City, local residents, prospective land developers and land owners within the region will now heave a sigh of relief as they keep availing themselves daily of the opportunity to have every land-based issues permanently resolved within their domain.
The newly created offices in Ekpoma in Edo Central is located within the Esan West Local Government Secretariat along Benin-Ekpoma road while that in Auchi is located in Etsako West Local Government Secretariat.
Earlier, Comrade Patrick Ochoga, State Chairman of the Edo State Correspondent Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalists in his remarks commended the MD, EDOGIS, Dr. Tony Ikpasaja for introducing new strategies in enhancing effective service delivery in land administration and development few weeks after resumption following the creation of new offices in Edo North and Central Senatorial Districts.
He added that the success recorded within his short spell in office as the MD EdoGIS following his recent appointment was a clear testament to the conviction of the Governor that even as a Journalist his appointment was not misplaced but well thought out.
