The Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council, (BTC), Frank Irabor, has responded to allegations that he and Evans Obasuyi Osazee collected N60 million from the deposed Ohen of Okhoromi Community to suppress a press statement from appearing in public space.

Irabor, who denied the allegations, in a statement issued and made available to newsmen described them as baseless and without merit.

He demanded that the accusers with a proxy name Sungley Xaint Dazi and others making similar claims to provide concrete evidence to substantiate their claims within 7 days or face legal consequences.

He noted: “I am aware of the allegations made against myself Frank Irabor and Evans Obasuyi Osazee regarding the collection of N60 million from the deposed Ohen Okhoromi by a certain man using a proxy name Sungley Xaint Dazi and others making similar claims. I categorically deny these allegations and assert that they are baseless and without merit”.

“Failure to provide evidence within the stipulated timeframe will attract severe legal consequences,” he warned.

Irabor said the allegations have the potential to damage his reputation and integrity, including his official position.

He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the integrity and dignity of the Benin Kingdom, calling on the relevant authorities to investigate and take necessary actions against individuals working to destabilize the Kingdom using proxy names on social media platforms to deface him.
