Edo South APC Stakeholders Endorse Igbinedion As Candidate For Ovia Fed. Constituency

The deputy governor of Edo State, Hon. Dennis Idahosa has reiterated that the only aspirant for Ovia Federal Constituency by- election as agreed by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) State and Stakeholders is Barr. Omosede Igbinedion.
He gave the assurance while welcoming the Edo Central Senatorial Primaries and Ovia Federal Constituency Primaries Committees for the APC Primary Election slated for tomorrow, Saturday July 19, 2025 from Abuja.
Deputy Governor Idahosa while welcoming the Committees said that with the support of State leadership of APC, the party in Edo South APC is united and has resolved to work as one.
He said other House of Representative Aspirants including Hon. Sunny Osazemwinde, Hon. Lincoln Ibie, Hon. Charity Amiayawo, Hon. Oscar Aghedo stepped down for Barrister Omosede Igbinedion.
In his remarks Chairman APC Edo State Jarret Tenebe said arrangement has been concluded both in Ovia Federal Constituency and Edo Central Senatorial Districts ahead of the primary election.
In their remarks, the Committee Chairman for Edo Central Senatorial District Primary Election, Stanley Buada expressed gratitude to the State APC for making their work easy by having a consensus candidate while the Chairman of Ovia Federal Constituency, Barr. Lucky Ajokperiniovo said the party will adopt the direct primaries with five delegates from each ward that make up the constituency.
He thanked the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo and party officials for making their work easy.
The APC consensus candidate Barr. Omosede Igbinedion thanked the party for believing in her and appreciating all other aspirants for stepping down for her.
Also speaking, the APC consensus candidate for Edo Central Senatorial District, Hon. Joe Ikpea said, “I have a name to protect, that name is very important to me. Being who I am, I have be able to know that to impact on my people is my calling. I have that drive to bring joy to my people and I promise to replicate that as a Senator to represents Edo Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.”
“Being in Esan extraction, I know what we are going through. We have a lot of pains, no good road, and we facing kidnapping in our senatorial district. I know working with His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo from the National Assembly, we shall find lasting solution to all these our predicament.”
