Professor Victor Adetimirin Olawale Appointed As New VC of ESUI

Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Professor Victor Olawale Adetimirin as a substantive Vice Chancellor of Edo State University Iyamho
In a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor Esq said Prof. Victor Adetimirin Olawale whose appointment takes immediate effect is a distinguished academic and seasoned administrator with decades of experience in teaching, research, and university leadership.
A Professor of Agronomy obtained his B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Ibadan, and subsequently earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the same institution.
Prof. Olawale has also served in various capacities within Nigeria’s university system, including Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Director of Academic Planning, thereby contributing significantly to curriculum development, research innovations, and institutional reforms and he is widely published in reputable local and international journals and has supervised numerous postgraduate students to successful completion.
His wealth of experience, dedication to academic excellence, and visionary leadership are expected to further elevate Edo University, Iyamho, as a center of learning and research excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
Professor Victor Adetimirin Olawale is happily married with children.
It would be recalled that the tenure of the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof Emmanuel Aluyor expired on the 31st of May, 2024 with the appointment of Prof Dawood Ibrahim Egbefo as the acting Vice Chancellor.
